Assess your learning actions

As you complete an ACTION ITEM from your ACTION PLAN, remember to ASSESS it in terms of how successful your learning was. You may want to consider some of the following questions:

• Why did I choose this activity?
• What learning needs did the activity address?
• Was it an appropriate activity for me, in terms of my learning style and other learner factors?
• What learning strategies did I use to carry out the activity?
• How effective were my strategies?
• Did I have any problems of time management, task achievement etc.? Why?
• Was the material useful? How?
• Was the material enjoyable? Why?
• What did I learn from doing this activity?
• How could I do the activity better next time?

Once you have reflected on your learning, you are ready to move on to another ACTION ITEM. When you have completed several action items and reflected on them, you are ready to write a reflection on the process of independent learning.
